Batik Basics Have you ever seen a beautiful batik design and wished you could try the process? Join me for an exciting exploration of this fascinating ancient art process.In this day-long workshop you will have the opportunity to create your own batik designs, learning about wax-resist techniques, including painting or drawing on fabric with melted wax. We will also learn dyeing techniques that can be used to color your fabric. Images from nature and from other cultures will provide the inspiration for your finished pieces.

Hello! I am an artist living, working and teaching on the beautiful southern coast of Maine. Until recently, my business was known as Sunfire Batiks. I am now making the transition to Suzanne Drown Art & Design to reflect a broader scope of mediums and design sense.
I gather the inspiration for my artwork from nature, dance and cultures from around the world. I enjoy bringing a strong sense of hope, inspiration and life affirming messages to my work.
